What will your company be like in the future?

Jonathan Swift said: "Vision is the art of seeing things invisible."

In today's economic environment the successful business can no longer afford to be the first to react to market shifts and changes. The successful business creates the changes for others to react to. Are you creating new paradigms in your industry? Or are you running as fast as you can to keep up with the competition?

What is a Vision?

A Vision is an energizing and inspirational verbal picture with specific goals after a set period of time that reflects the entity's Mission. A powerful and successful Vision draws the reader towards the Vision and motivates them into action. It:

  • Defines an end result
  • Further clarifies Purpose and Direction
  • Is energizing and motivating
  • Is detailed and specific
  • Is idealistic but realistic
  • Is a powerful recruiting and selling tool
  • Has a specific time frame
  • Is a call to action
Why have a Vision?

  • Why do you get up in the morning? To pay the mortgage? To feed the kids? To make enough money to pay for a vacation to get away from why you get up in the morning?
  • Are your employees 9-5ers? Do they show up and put in the minimum required effort to stay employed?
  • Is morale at an all time low in the company?
  • Is everyone second guessing what is going to happen next in the company?
  • Are departments fighting over resources and priorities?

What does a Vision look like?

Our forefathers had a Vision. They called it "A Declaration." In it they saw a country where "all Men are created equal" and have "certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness". This vision was so motivational it lead an entire country into a Revolution.

What can you do?

A successful Vision usually requires a clear Mission and a considerable amount of focused effort. The Declaration of Independence took quite a few men a long time, a number of drafts and a lot of rewrites. Okay, so you just want to run a company, not a country. It is essentially the same process over 200 years later. Thomas Jefferson is not available at this time. However, a good facilitator will help you through the process of discovering your own true Vision.

We are so busy, can we just hire someone to write it for us?

Please take out your checkbook and write a large check to your favorite charity. It will cost you the same, take less time and you will have the same results (and feel much better) as paying someone to write your Vision for you.

If you and your team do not create your Vision it will have little meaning for you, other than another folder in a file drawer.

But we don't even know where to begin!!

Our Solutions Consultants can facilitate the process for you. We work with you and your team to explore the building blocks for your Mission and Vision and help you discover the essential components to your Profitable Solutions™.

We help you through the process, training as we go. We do not do the work for you. Besides, this is YOUR company, it works best if it is YOUR vision.

We learn when you learn, your feedback about our website is important to us.
